Varian Managed Inventory

The Right Parts at the Right Time
To ensure your production requirements are met, Varian Semiconductor offers a program to reduce spares inventory costs while assuring immediate availability. Physical storage of parts is controlled by the customer but inventory is owned and logistics managed by Varian Semiconductor.

How VMI Works
Varian Semiconductor evaluates and recommends safety stock levels for each piece part having a minimum of 6 turns per year. When agreed upon, VSEA provides the initial 6 weeks worth of high usage consumables and provides replenishment on a rates based on usage. Monthly billing is based on actual usage, there are no expenses unless parts are used, and current revisions are always available—eliminating all inventory risk.

Increases Uptime
Varian Semiconductor manages consumable parts requirements and will continuously adjust material requirements dependent upon customer’s configurations, processes and utilization. The program can virtually eliminates downtime associated with part availability or down-rev parts in inventory. Varian Semiconductor provides a 7x24 hour emergency parts ordering process, with visibility to all world wide depot locations.

Our replacement parts specifications, assembly procedures, and test methods have been validated in production systems to assure compatibility and optimal performance.
