VSEA recognizes that employee commuting to and from our facilities impacts the environment. VSEA encourages carpooling and alternative travel modes in order to reduce this impact. A few examples are:
- Providing a rider matching service to all employees where they can find individuals with similar commutes who may be interested in carpooling.
- Recognizing Bike To Work Day and offering incentives for employees to bike
Bike To Work Week
Eighteen VSEA employees participated in Bike To Work week. The Varian Velo team logged over 1260 miles on their bikes. This resulted in 63 gallons of gasoline saved and 1220 lbs of CO2 emissions avoided. Great work by the team which continues to train for 2011.
