Mechanical Engineer II, sought by Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc., (an Applied Materials company), the world’s leading manufacturer of ion implantation systems.
Job Duties: Define, design, implement and verify complex mechanical assembly and system problems for the continuous improvement of Company’s established (ion implanter) product line. Resolve all problems that arise in bringing a project from initial definition to production, leading to, and including, final field installation. Provide technical guidance on and coordinate fabrication, testing, and installation of products, machinery, components and systems. Plan and develop methods and procedures for testing products and equipment. Work on projects that include new product development and continuous improvement in a team approach with Mechanical, Software and other Electrical Engineers. Utilize experience in solid modeling (Pro/E) CAD, CAD model design life cycle management, MathCad, stress/strain calculation, and dynamic modeling analysis.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, an Engineering discipline or a closely related field and one year of work experience in the job offered or related field of mechanical engineering; or, in the alternative, a Master’s degree or equivalent and no work experience.
Must have design/development experience utilizing solid modeling (Pro/E) CAD or a similar program such as SolidWorks, CAD model design life cycle management, MathCad or a similar package such as Mathematica, stress/strain calculation, and dynamic modeling analysis. Must have expertise working with Microsoft Office, Excel, Project and Visio. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.
